Clear Access offering 40Gbps fibre at rAge Expo 2023

Internet service provider Clear Access will offer a 40Gbps fibre connection at rAge Expo 2023 to provide over 600 LAN gamers with an uninterrupted gaming experience.

Clear Access will also have a booth at the expo where gamers can sign up for Quark — a fibre offering aimed at serious gamers — and test ping rates for their favourite games to see how Quark will perform in their area.

“Our partnership with Clear Access also positively impacts the functionality of the main event halls by providing exhibitors with quick and reliable Internet connectivity, which is essential for the success of the whole event,” said rAge event owner Michael James.

“This year, the more than 600 NAG LAN gamers expected to attend the upcoming rAge Expo … can rest assured that their gaming experience will be just as enjoyable and interruption-free, thanks to the 40Gbps fibre connection that Clear Access will be making available,” Clear Access added.

Clear Acces debuted its Quark product in partnership with Vumatel at rAge Expo 2022.

Clear Acces claims Quark provides high-speed connectivity with “zero latency” and low contention, providing gamers with an optimal experience.

“Quark enables users to stream and game on a lightning-fast and reliable fibre connection, no matter the time of day or where they are in the world,” says Rob Nelson, marketing manager at Clear Access.

“This is a game changer for serious players in the country, being the first product of its kind aimed specifically at elevating the gaming experience through an incredibly resilient network.”

The fibre product is available in three symmetrical tiers that vary based on speeds at the following prices:

  • Quark (100Mbps) — R1,049 per month
  • Duo Quark (200Mbps) — R1,149 per month
  • Penta Quark (500Mbps) — pricing not specified

“A quark system will find the quickest way to connect a gamer or user to a server. Because of this, Quark users experience absolutely no lag on the network and incredibly fast ping rates — the only lag is the time it takes light to travel,” says Nelson.

“For South African gamers who are serious about ranking up and making their mark internationally, or even those who want an enhanced, lag and contention-free gaming experience, Quark is going to level the playing fields.”

The rAge Expo 2023 will be held at the Gallagher Estate in Midrand, Johannesburg, between 8 and 10 December.
