PlayStation Network users around the globe have reported that the company permanently suspended their accounts for no apparent reason.
Several users have taken Reddit and Twitter (now X) to complain about their suspensions, adding that there is no way to appeal the decision.
Unsurprisingly, many users are distraught as they may have spent a lot of money on digital PlayStation games they can no longer access.
“Without any notice, @PlayStation / @AskPlayStation permanently banned me from the #PlayStation Network,” Twitter user @michaeldhaliwal posted.
“No one knows why! I don’t have a chargeback, I can’t appeal & no response to suspension status. CS says to create a new account & disconnected me.”
Upon receiving a suspension, Sony sent a message to impacted users saying they violated the PlayStation Network’s terms of service.
“This account is permanently suspended from PlayStation Network due to violations of the PlayStation Network Terms of Service and User Agreement,” it said in its message to Dhaliwal.
Reddit users have reported receiving similar messages.
Sony has yet to acknowledge the issues publicly, and there aren’t any notices referring to the incidents on its PlayStation support page.
It is unclear how widespread the issue is. However, it appears as though Sony is working to fix the problems.
Dhaliwal commented on his original post several hours later, saying he could access his account again.
