South African students win medals in international technology competitions

Two South African students have won medals in global technology competitions, beating thousands of competitors from across the world.

Tiffany Onderstall, a 19-year-old student at Inscape Education Group, beat 88,000 competitors to win second place in the 2015 Adobe Certified Associate World Championship.

Samantha Knupp, a student at Elkanah House High School, beat 600,000 worldwide competitors to win third place in the 2015 Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship.

Both competitions were hosted by Certiport in Dallas, USA. The girls were sponsored by NetLearn of South Africa.

The 2015 Adobe Certified Associate World Championship top 3 are:

  • Li-Hsin Hsu, Taiwan
  • Tiffany Onderstall, South Africa
  • Maria Valarezo, Ecuador

The 2015 Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship top 3, in Word 2010, are:

  • Manuel Burgos, Dominican Republic
  • Ryan Catalfu, USA
  • Samantha Knupp, South Africa
