We were never going to recall Zuma: ANC

The issue of recalling President Jacob Zuma was never discussed by the African National Congress, the party said on Tuesday.

“I can confirm that there was never any talk of a recall,” ANC spokesperson Zizi Kodwa told reporters in Johannesburg on Tuesday.

He also squashed rumours that Nhlanhla Nene had rejected an offer to be re-appointed back to his position.

“He was never offered [his job back],” Kodwa said. This was after what appeared to be a draft statement made the rounds which claimed the party would be recalling Zuma.
