SA Post Office IT systems will be down tomorrow

The SA Post Office has announced that its IT systems, including those used by Postbank, will be down from 22:00 on Saturday 18 May until 06:00 on Sunday morning.

This downtime is scheduled to accommodate the SA Post Office’s IT unit testing back-up and uninterrupted power supply (UPS) systems.

“Postbank customers in particular are advised to complete all transactions they require before or after the times mentioned above,” said SAPO.

The following services will not be available during the downtime:

• Email
• Postbank transactions
• Sassa card withdrawals
• Track and trace
• Point-of-sale system
• Third-party systems

“The testing is essential to ensure a better and stable IT environment for all Post Office and Postbank transactions,” said SAPO. “We apologise for the inconvenience.”
