Core Group, official distributor of Apple products in South Africa, announced its recommended retail prices for the new MacBook Air in a press release on Monday, 12 May 2014.
The next iteration of Apple’s ultrabook line was launched in the US towards the end of April 2014, with the entry-level models receiving slightly lower prices than the 2013 MacBook Air.
Along with the prices on the new MacBook Air, Core also announced a price decrease on the previous model.
Though Core said it may suggest retail prices , it emphasised that these are suggestions only and the reseller is entirely free to determine the actual prices at which products will be sold.
The table below compares the launch price of the 2014 MacBook Air, the launch price of the 2013 model, and the new price of the 2013 MacBook Air.

The 2014 MacBook Air 11-inch with 128GB drive is “coming soon”, Core said.
