Cheaper iMac price for South Africa

Core Group announced in a press release on Monday (23 June) that the new 21.5-inch iMac will be available in South Africa from early July, at a recommended retail price of R14,999.

Launch partners will include Apple Premium Resellers (iStore and Digicape), selected Apple Authorised Retailers, and Apple Authorised Resellers, Core said.

Apple launched its entry-level iMac last week (Wednesday, 18 June 2014), selling it for $1,099 through its online store.

The new 21.5-inch iMac features a 1.4GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor with Turbo Boost up to 2.7GHz, Intel HD 5000 graphics, 8GB of memory and a 500GB hard drive.

All iMac models include 802.11ac Wi-Fi, two Thunderbolt ports, and four USB 3.0 ports.

They also come with Apple’s iLife and iWork software suites, which includes iMovie, GarageBand and iPhoto, and Pages, Numbers and Keynote.
