Oculus Rift final consumer model revealed, SA launch questions

Oculus and Facebook recently unveiled the final consumer version of their virtual reality headset, along with the new Oculus Touch controllers.
No hardware specifications, retail pricing, or final release date information has been announced.
However, it was confirmed that the Rift would be sold with an Xbox One controller.
With regards to a South African launch, Oculus and Facebook said: “We do not have more details to share on Rift sales at this time”.
The reveal of the consumer model Oculus Rift comes after announcements in May that the VR headset will ship in Q1 2016 and will require a high-end PC to run optimally.
The recommended system specifications are as follows:
- Nvidia GTX 970/AMD 290 equivalent or greater
- Intel i5–4590 equivalent or greater
- 8GB+ RAM
- Compatible HDMI 1.3 video output
- 2x USB 3.0 ports
- Windows 7 SP1 or newer
