Sony launches SSD range

Sony has launched its own range of SSDs, initially available in 240GB and 480GB variants.
Anandtech reported that the move is a surprising one from Sony, as the company has stated it wants to focus on highly profitable and less competitive markets going forward.
Sony’s SLW-M SSDs come in a 2.5-inch form-factor and use a SATA-6Gbps interface.
Sony said the SSDs feature sequential read speeds up to 560MB/s, and, according to the report, are based on the Phison PS3110-S10 controller and Toshiba’s TLC flash memory.
