The insane PC which costs R700,000

The HP Z840 Workstation has been built to push performance boundaries and provide the needed computing power to keep up with any large project.

“Built for high-end computing and visualization, the HP Z840 delivers outstanding performance in one of the industry’s most expandable chassis,” said HP.

An entry-level HP Z840 Workstation starts at around R40,000, but MyBroadband was more interested in what an ultra-high-end machine looks like.

We asked HP what the highest possible specs are for an HP Z840 Workstation, and what it will cost. This is what is on offer:

  • Processing: Dual Xeon E5-2699 v4 Processors
  • Memory: 1TB DDR4 ECC Memory
  • Storage: 4 x Z Turbo Quad Pro 512GB Pci SSD
  • Graphics: Nvidia Quadro M6000 24GB
  • OS: Windows 10

The price tag for this high-end HP Z840 Workstation: R700,000.

I am not sure what I will use a computer with 1TB of RAM for, but if someone is keen to buy me one for Christmas, I will send you my shipping address.
