Intel 7th-generation CPUs get launch window
Intel will start selling its 7th-generation Core CPU range later this year, Engadget reported.
The company made the announcement at Computex, where it also unveiled a 10-core Extreme Edition i7 CPU.
Engadget reported that support for Thunderbolt 3 and IR cameras used for features like Windows Hello’s facial recognition are expected.
Also shipping later this year are Intel’s Apollo Lake chips – a cheaper version of the Skylake family.
Apollo Lake is expected to bring 4K video and USB-C to cheaper, 2-in-1 laptop and tablet computers.
