Samsung 4TB SSD launched, with a big price tag

Samsung’s new 4TB 850 EVO 2.5-inch SATA III SSD has appeared online, priced at $1,499 (R21,635).

The 850 EVO is Samsung’s advanced consumer SSD, powered by V-NAND technology that maximizes performance and reliability.

The drive features TurboWrite technology, which delivers fast sequential read (540MB/s) and write (520MB/s) performance.

The 4TB 850 EVO has an endurance rating of 300TBW (terabytes written). This is the amount of data which can be written before the drive becomes unreliable.
