Qualcomm unveils new Snapdragon 450 processor
Qualcomm has unveiled its latest SoC for use in mid-range smartphones, the Snapdragon 450.
The mobile platform is built on a 14nm FinFET manufacturing process and supports LTE connectivity.
According to Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 450 boasts 25% more GPU and CPU performance than its predecessor, the Snapdragon 435.
The Snapdragon 450 will also add four hours of battery life and supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0.
LTE on the Snapdragon X9 LTE modem, which is on the 450, uses 2x20MHz carrier aggregation to achieve download and upload speeds of 300Mbps and 150Mbps respectively.
Qualcomm’s 450 is expected to be in consumer devices by the end of 2017.
