The most popular PC gaming hardware this month

The most popular gaming hardware among PC gamers on Steam for October 2017 has been detailed by the platform.

The Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 held the top GPU spot last month, but has now been succeeded by the previous-generation GeForce GTX 960 graphics card.

The HTC Vive also lost its top spot as the most popular VR headset to the Oculus Rift, although they are within one percentage point of each other.

Intel and Nvidia continue to dominate PC gaming worldwide, with the companies enjoying over 80% share in the CPU and GPU markets respectively.

Quad-core Intel processors are quickly becoming the new standard, growing steadily in popularity throughout the year.

The most common amount of VRAM in a gamer’s system was 2GB, and the most popular language was Simplified Chinese, followed by English.
