Intel unveils laptop chips with built-in AMD Vega graphics

Intel has unveiled its new 8th-gen Core processors with Radeon RX Vega M graphics.

The new chips are aimed at gamers and content creators, and will allow slim notebooks to deliver impressive graphics processing power.

The processors will be available in two configurations:

  • 8th-gen Intel Core processor with Radeon RX Vega M GL – 65W
  • 8th-gen Intel Core processor with Radeon RX Vega M GH – 100W Unlocked

The chips comprise a quad-core Intel CPU paired with a Radeon RX Vega GPU and 4GB of HBM2 VRAM.

Intel said the processors deliver a 40% performance improvement over current discrete graphics notebook configurations.

The chips also boast enough performance to drive Windows Mixed Reality and Oculus Rift headsets.

Intel’s new Core processors with built-in Radeon RX Vega graphics will be on display at CES 2018.
