AMD releases new Ryzen laptop chips

AMD has released two new processors which are aimed at laptops.

The AMD Ryzen 5 2600H and Ryzen 7 2800H are 45W quad-core processors with eight processor threads and Radeon Vega graphics.

The Verge reported that the new chips support DDR4 RAM – up to 3,200MHz – and use a 14nm architecture.

Additional specifications include:

  • Ryzen 7 2800H – 3.3GHz base / 1.3GHz Radeon Vega 11
  • Ryzen 5 2600H – 3.2GHz base / 1.1GHz Radeon Vega 8

AMD’s new chips are aimed at taking market share from Intel’s Coffee Lake H series chips, added the reprot, which are used in many gaming notebooks and professional laptops.
