Kingston HyperX SSD now in SA
The Kingston HyperX SSD is now available in the South African market. The drive is a high end offering from Kingston, and includes features such as Sata 3.0 and a Sandforce-based controller.
The HyperX SSD sports the following performance features:
- Sequential speed
- Sequential read 6Gb/s: 525MB/s
- Sequential write 6Gb/s: 480MB/s
- Sustained Random 4K Read/Write:
- 120 GB: 20,000 / 60,000 IOPS
- 240 GB: 40,000 / 60,000 IOPS
- Max Random 4K Read/Write
- 120GB: 95,000 / 70,000 IOPS
- 240GB: 95,000 / 60,000 IOPS

The Kingston HyperX SSD drives come in 120GB and 240GB variants, and has a suggested retail price of R2630 and R5668 respectively. Alternatively, the drives ship as part of a HyperX upgrade Kit, with the 120GB kit costing R3155, and the 240GB costing R5844.
