Lenovo unveils epic new ThinkBook and Yoga laptops – All the details

Lenovo launched several new laptops at its annual Tech Life event held during IFA 2019 in Berlin, Germany.

The company revealed new Yoga PCs with better performance and added smart features, in addition to its new ThinkBook 14 and 15 notebooks, which are built for maximum performance and connectivity.

Additionally, it also updated its previously-launched ThinkBook 13s and 14s with 10th-generation Intel Core processors.

“ThinkBook is not just another laptop line-up. We designed ThinkBook specifically for the new workforce which comprises of Gen Z and millennials, with features and design that make it as easy and responsive as a smartphone,” said Eric Yu, senior vice president and general manager, Lenovo SMB.

The new Yoga lineup includes devices which are aligned with Intel’s Project Athena laptop standard, as well as support for powerful graphics, including discrete Nvidia GTX GPUs.

Below are all the details on Lenovo’s new lineup of ThinkBook and Yoga laptops. Please note that all local pricing is subject to change based on international exchange rates.


ThinkBook

Lenovo’s new ThinkBook 14 and 15 laptops boast Intel 10th-generation processors with Radeon 620 graphics for improved performance across all applications.

The devices also boast Full HD displays with Intel Optanes support and up to 1TB of SSD storage.

Other impressive features include 12-hour battery life, Intel Wi-Fi 6 support, and a hidden USB port which allows you to place your wireless mouse dongle inside the laptop chassis.

The Lenovo ThinkBook 14 and 15 will be available in November and will be priced from about R11,000 and R10,800 respectively.

Yoga S740

Lenovo unveiled two new Yoga S740 laptops, each of which boasts impressive specifications as well as slim and lightweight designs.

The 14-inch model of the Lenovo Yoga S740 features an Intel Core i7 10th-generation processor paired with Nvidia GeForce MX250 graphics, while the larger 15-inch version boasts a 9th-generation Core i9 CPU and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 GPU.

Both of these laptops come fitted with 4K HDR screens as well as PCIe SSDs and up to 16GB of DDR4 RAM.

The new Lenovo Yoga S740 laptops will be available in September. The 14-inch model will begin at R14,700, and the 15-inch version will be priced from around R23,000.

Yoga C-Series

In addition to its new ThinkBook and Yoga S740 laptops, Lenovo also launched a range of new Yoga C-series notebooks.

These devices range from the small but powerful Yoga C640 all the way up to the impressive Yoga C940, which boasts support for dedicated Nvidia graphics and a 4K HDR display.

Lenovo’s new Yoga range all feature improved display technology, cranking the brightness up to 500 nits across many models, as well as intelligent battery management features and improved sound quality.

These devices are priced as follows:

  • Yoga C940 15-inch – From R31,000
  • Yoga C940 14-inch – From R24,500
  • Yoga C740 15-inch – From R14,500
  • Yoga C740 14-inch – From R14,500
  • Yoga C640 13-inch – From R14,500

All of these devices are expected to launch in September, except for the Yoga C940 15-inch and Yoga C640 13-inch, which will be available in October 2019.
