MSI’s first laptop with Nvidia RTX Spark superchip announced
Taiwanese hardware giant MSI unveiled its first laptop to carry Nvidia’s RTX Spark superchip, the Prestige N16 Flip AI+, at Computex 2026.
The reveal followed Nvidia’s announcement of the RTX Spark, an advanced combination of a graphics chip and microprocessor specifically designed for Windows machines.
MSI said the Prestige N16 Flip AI+ represented a new generation of premium thin-and-light PCs, combining advanced technologies from Nvidia and MSI.
This included “Nvidia’s full-stack AI platform, full suite of RTX technologies, and exceptional power efficiency in a versatile 2-in-1 design.”
MSI’s device was designed with creators, AI developers and gamers in mind. Alongside the new Nvidia chip, the laptops feature a 99Wh battery and a 16″ UHD+ Tandem OLED display.
“The display delivers vivid visuals with deep contrast and cinema-grade colour accuracy, covering 100% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut for professional creative workflows,” said MSI.
“The variable refresh rate (VRR) ensures smooth visuals across gaming, entertainment, and video editing scenarios.”
This display is capable of a peak brightness of over 1,000 nits, 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage, and Delta E < 1 colour accuracy.
For users, this means that the screen can display a wide range of deep colours, including vibrant reds and intense electric purples.
The Delta E colour accuracy rating means that professional artists can trust the display to accurately represent their work, with a precise mathematical ratio to ensure colour accuracy.
As it is a “flip” device, users can transition the laptop between tablet, tent, normal laptop mode, and a few presentation modes.
It also supports the MSI Nano Pen stylus, designed for more precise input and helping with sketching, note-taking, or more creative work.
With Nvidia’s full-stack AI platform supported, the laptops can run on-device AI models and were made with AI development in mind.
“The system is designed for local personal agents, large language models, advanced content creation, generative AI applications, and AI-enhanced productivity,” MSI said.
“The full-stack also included support for RTX gaming, multitasking, and any other AI-driven workflows.”
A superchip made for creators, AI developers and high-end gamers
MyBroadband sent a query to MSI representatives in South Africa to learn more about the local availability and pricing of the Prestige N16 Flip AI+.

This is according to Nvidia, which said the first laptops featuring the RTX Spark superchip will launch sometime in or around September 2026, the southern hemisphere’s spring period.
Nvidia roped in Taiwan processor giant MediaTek to help it develop the superchips to run on Microsoft’s Windows for Arm operating system machines.
The RTX Spark will feature a CPU that has 20 computing cores and a Blackwell-generation graphics processor with 6,144 cores. The two elements will share a built-in memory.
They will also use Nvidia’s NVLink interface to communicate, which integrates Nvidia’s data centre innovations into consumer PCs. It will allow PCs to handle large AI models and high-end games.
It is Nvidia’s first foray into the personal computer processing market after becoming a dominant name in consumer GPU and, most recently, an AI data centre titan.
Nvidia said the first new laptops built with RTX Spark will target the premium segment and will be designed to eliminate the compromises of the competition.
This meant the Prestige N16 Flip AI+ would likely see a hefty price point in the local market, although the full specifications have yet to be revealed.
It said that the superchip’s efficiency enabled manufacturers to build thin, light PCs around it, with MSI adding the advantage of power efficiency as well.
Bloomberg indicated that prior to Nvidia’s leap into data centre and AI processor technology, the expansion into consumer processors would have marked a major expansion and scope.
“But now, its data centre chip lineup delivers revenue that dwarfs the combined sales of its nearest rivals,” it said.
“Nvidia’s sales in its most recent quarter were roughly equal to Intel and AMD’s annual totals for last year.”
The company said that it worked with Microsoft for years to prepare the new devices and ensure software support.
