Afrihost slashes server hosting bandwidth costs
Afrihost today (5 July 2011) announced that they have made changes to their dedicated server hosting options which include higher traffic allowances and lower traffic overage cost.
“We’ve increased the traffic of each package massively (up to 4 times for our Platinum package) and also decreased the traffic overage cost for all dedicated servers to just R15 per extra GB,” explained Afrihost CEO Gian Visser.
Visser added that Afrihost has also increased the specifications of the hardware used, which includes RAID 5 on all their Platinum servers.
“We have no contracts, zero setup fees and you can configure your own server specifications fully. We also offer our clients Double Your Money Back guarantee,” said Visser.
The dedicated server market has become very competitive over the last year with numerous companies including Hetzner, MWEB and Web Africa battling it out for market share.
This raises the question: which hosting provider offers the best value for money on dedicated server packages.
