Nvidia GPU standoff – GTX 960M vs GTX 965M

We pitch Nvidia’s GPU GTX 960M and GTX 965M against one another to see which delivers the best bang for your buck.

Both the GTX 960M and GTX 965M bring desktop-class gaming performance to the notebook, driving impressive gameplay at ultra-settings on 1080p resolutions.

That being said some titles are only playable on the maximum settings with the 965M leaving some titles unplayable on higher settings with the 960M.

So with that in mind, only the 965M allows you to take on every game with blazing-fast performance, exclusive gaming technologies, plus the improved battery life you need to play longer unplugged.

In terms of overall gaming performance then the graphical capabilities of the GTX 965M are on average 20% better than the GTX 960M.

This is due to the GTX 965M having more Texture Mapping Units and better Texture Fill Rate as well as more Render Output Units and Pixel Fill Rate than the GTX 960M.

Benchmarking

Nvidia’s GPU GTX 965M is the clear winner in terms of performance based on data from PassMark, 3D mark and in game performance getting an impressive 75% better score in PassMark over the GTX 960M.
