Huawei wins 2024 MyBroadband Award for Best Mobile Network Vendor

Huawei has won the prestigious 2024 MyBroadband Award for Best Mobile Network Vendor.

Huawei won thanks to its connectivity equipment’s unrivalled use in the infrastructure of South Africa’s top networks, including the 5G networks of Vodacom, MTN, and Telkom.

Its hardware and solutions have been found to perform better than other hardware based on tests conducted using the MyBroadband Speed Test Android app.

This was true across South Africa’s two premier 5G networks – Vodacom and MTN – while Huawei is the sole 5G equipment provider to Telkom.

Huawei’s commitment to South Africa

Huawei has consistently shown that South Africa – and Africa – are essential parts of its global strategy.

It believes Africa can ride a new wave of “digital-physical convergence” to leapfrog existing development cycles in the digital economy era.

To achieve these goals, Huawei Sub-Saharan Africa President Leo Chen has said that “Africa’s first priority must be to accelerate the development of connectivity infrastructure.”

“That is because, in the future, more people, things, and applications will be connected.”

“This process will generate far more data than it does today. So, we need a more secure, reliable, and developed network to act as the foundation for digitalisation.”

The performance of Huawei’s radio equipment in South Africa’s top mobile networks is evidence of its commitment to this digitalisation process.

This makes Huawei the worthy winner of the 2024 MyBroadband Award for Best Mobile Network Vendor.
