Garmin launches Fenix 8 Series – The ultimate performance smartwatch
Garmin has launched the Fenix 8 Series, which comprises its next-generation premium multisport GPS smartwatches.
These smartwatches are available with a bright AMOLED display or a solar charging display that delivers even greater battery life.
They also feature a wide range of advanced fitness tools, an improved design, and extensive smart functionality.
“For years, the fenix line has been celebrated for its premium features, materials and design,” said Dan Bartel, Garmin Vice President of Global Consumer Sales.
“If you’re looking for a sophisticated smartwatch that can hold you accountable and help you reach your health and wellness goals, look no further than fenix 8.”
Design
The Garmin Fenix 8 Series comes in three sizes – 43mm, 47mm, and 51mm.
The AMOLED version is available in all three sizes, while the solar charging option is available in 47mm and 51mm versions.
Both models feature a rugged design with leakproof metal buttons and a new sensor guard and have been tested to US military standards for thermal, shock, and water resistance.
Premium materials, such as optional titanium bezels and scratch-resistant sapphire lenses, are built to endure the harshest conditions.
The Fenix 8 Series design also includes a speaker and microphone that make it easy to conduct calls and issue voice commands, while an LED flashlight makes it easier to handle dark environments.
Fitness features
The Fenix 8 Series helps athletes of all types push beyond their limits.
Your training readiness score helps you determine if it is a good day to go hard or take it easy, while advanced training metrics like endurance score, hill score, VO2 max, training status, and more can help gauge overall performance.
During your training sessions, you will also benefit from PacePro, which provides GPS-based pace guidance for selected courses and distances – including grade-adjusted pace when tackling hills.
ClimbPro complements this by displaying real-time information on your current and upcoming climbs.
For off-the-beaten-path adventures, the Fenix 8 Series also supports many premium mapping features to help you stay on track. Preloaded TopoActive maps are available on sapphire models, while an additional, optional Outdoor Maps+ subscription will give you even more premium mapping content.
SatIQ and multi-band GPS provide superior positioning accuracy in challenging environments, and you can even create new courses – or find existing ones – and sync them to your watch to get turn-by-turn directions.
Health and convenience features
The Garmin Fenix 8 Series takes your health seriously.
It has features like Pulse Ox, Body Battery energy monitoring, jet lag adviser, advanced sleep monitoring, nap detection, and more.
You can also receive a morning report that provides a customised assessment of last night’s sleep, your training outlook, and your heart rate variability status.
Other convenient features of the Fenix 8 Series include:

- Music download support through Spotify, Deezer, or Amazon Music
