Black Friday 2024 in South Africa – MyBroadband readers plan to spend big

A large portion of MyBroadband readers plan to spend over R5,000 this Black Friday, while 93% plan to shop online.

This was a key takeaway from the MyBroadband Pre-Black Friday 2024 survey, conducted in October.

1,732 MyBroadband readers participated in the survey, sharing their spending plans for Black Friday.

88% of these respondents are purchasing decision-makers in their homes, while 43% earn at least R40,000 per month.

The results also revealed a highly-engaged and eager-to-shop audience, making MyBroadband readers a prime target for advertisers this Black Friday.

Key findings

The majority of MyBroadband readers said they are setting a budget for Black Friday, showing their eagerness to spend on deals.

39% said they plan to spend at least R5,000, while 18% said they will be spending over R10,000 this Black Friday season.

6% are then ready to splurge over R20,000 on Black Friday deals in 2024.

Respondents also shared where they plan to buy Black Friday deals.

93% said they shop for Black Friday deals online, while only 7% will shop strictly in-store.
