Level up your home theatre audio – Hisense HS2000 Soundbar review

The Hisense HS2000 Soundbar makes a great addition to any home theatre, thanks to its sleek design and triple-speaker system that pushes out 240W of rich audio.

This was our finding after Hisense sent us the HS2000 Soundbar to review.

To kick things off, the HS2000 Soundbar was incredibly easy to set up – offering a variety of wired and wireless connection options. This included Bluetooth 5.3, HDMI, optical, and aux.

From there, it was only a matter of placement – and thanks to its sleek design, the Hisense HS2000 Soundbar fitted perfectly on our TV stand in front of our TV.

Its sleek form factor ensured it complemented the entire setup, too, improving our audio experience with a stylish and unobtrusive fit.

It also comes with a wall mount kit, in case you need to position it in a specific spot in your lounge or entertainment room.

What’s inside

The Hisense HS2000 Soundbar offers a potent 240W audio output through its 2.1-channel speaker array.

This comprises two 60W tweeters and a 4.75-inch, 120W subwoofer that work together to produce a room-filling, crisp audio experience that takes your movie nights to the next level.

The subwoofer delivered punchy, deep bass that ensured our favourite action scenes resonated throughout the room, while our top songs sounded rich and clear.

Hisense has further improved the impressive hardware in the soundbar by including native support for Dolby Digital Plus 7.1 and DTS Virtual:X – optimising how audio is delivered at all times.

The 240W, 2.1-channel array also ensured a perfect balance between dialogue and background scores.

Scenes that would fall flat on standard TV speakers were elevated with deep, rumbling bass, while the spatial audio produced by the 2.1-channel system and Dolby Digital Plus 7.1 was excellent for immersive scenarios.

Adding a unique touch, Hisense has placed the powerful subwoofer in the soundbard behind a clear glass pane.

This not only enhanced the soundbar’s stylish look – it also allowed us to see the woofer’s vibrations in action.

Feature-rich

One of the standout features of the HS2000 soundbar is its TV Mode.

It allows the soundbar to take advantage of the sound engine in Hisense TVs and incorporate its processing power with the superior hardware of the soundbar for a vastly improved listening experience.

The HS2000 Soundbar also uses Hisense’s EzPlay feature, letting us control it through a Hisense TV remote. This puts all the audio and TV controls in one convenient place, for easy watching.

It has its own remote for easy control, too, in the event you use it with a TV from another brand.

Verdict

The Hisense HS2000 Soundbar offers South Africans an affordable way to upgrade their home theatre experience, priced at only R1,499 from Takealot.

It is easy to set up, fits well with all TV setups, and complements any design.

For anyone looking to boost their home audio without the hassle of multiple speakers and complex setups, the Hisense HS2000 Soundbar delivers powerful sound in a sleek, minimalist form factor.
