Everything we love about the new SKYWORTH 65-inch QD-Mini LED TV

The new SKYWORTH 65-inch X8700G QD-Mini LED TV is packed with an incredible display, powerful audio, and seamless functionality.

This ensures it produces an exceptional and well-rounded audiovisual experience – whether you’re a film, sports, or gaming enthusiast.

We got to hands-on test this impressive TV – and we highlight our favourite features, below.

Quantum Dot meets Mini LED

QD-Mini LED is a cutting-edge display technology that combines the power of Quantum Dot with the precision of Mini LED backlighting.

Quantum Dot lets the SKYWORTH TV produce a wider colour gamut and rich, lifelike colours – while the Mini LED backlighting ensures that everything looks sharp and vibrant through exceptional local dimming.

This local diming delivers improved contrasts, brighter brights, deeper blacks, and significantly reduced halo effects – resulting in an industry-leading viewing experience across every type of content.

HDR including HDR10+ and Dolby Vision are also supported by the X8700G QD-Mini LED TV, enhancing the picture quality further for a truly cinematic viewing experience.

For the gamers

As avid gamers, we also tested the SKYWORTH X8700G’s capabilities by connecting it to a PlayStation 5.

It offers a 4K resolution paired with a 144Hz refresh rate, which can be fully utilised thanks to the TV’s high-speed HDMI 2.1 port.

The 144Hz refresh rate ensured our fast-paced games ran smoothly – whether we were climbing the ranks in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 or twisting through the streets of Monaco on F1 2024.

Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) support was especially useful for the fast-paced first-person shooters, keeping gameplay smooth and eliminating screen tearing and stuttering.

Racing in F1 2024 and Gran Turismo 7 was also further enhanced through the TV’s Motion Estimate Motion Compensation (MEMC) technology, eliminating motion blur through the high-speed straights and around every bend.

Additionally, the 4K resolution – combined with the supported HDR technologies – was great for detail-rich games like Horizon Forbidden West.

Another feature which gamers will appreciate in this TV is the native 4K upscaling, made possible by unit’s AISR Chameleon Extreme 3.0 Engine.

Big sound for impactful moments

Audio often takes a backseat in modern TVs, but this not the case with the SKYWORTH X8700G.

Its speaker setup is a game-changer and one of the best sound systems in a TV we have ever tested.

Featuring a potent 20W subwoofer and six tweeters configured in a 2.1.2-channel layout, it was like having a built-in soundbar.

The 20W subwoofer ensured the roar of explosions in action scenes and the growl of engines in racing games was nothing short of heart-pounding.

The 2.1.2-channel configuration, along with Dolby Atmos support and SKYWORTH’s Wonder Audio technology, then produced realistic and immersive sound across every type of content we watched.

Finishing touches

Google TV OS is always a great experience on a TV – and comes as standard with the SKYWORTH X8700G.

It provided us with smooth access to all our favourite apps – including YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Apple TV, and many more.

These apps can easily be controlled with the excellent SKYWORTH remote, which was light, ergonomic and easy to use.

This remote also benefits from SKYWORTH’s innovative Find My Remote feature.

Simply press a dedicated button at the bottom of the TV, and your SKYWORTH X8700G TV will automatically bring up a menu that lets you ping the remote.

The remote will then emit a shrill sound that makes it easy to locate – solving a long-time challenge for TV owners.

Rounding out the impressive SKYWORTH X8700G was the TV’s minimalist yet sturdy metal double-blade stand and its narrow bezels.
