Suzuki and Ford beat Hyundai, Toyota, and Volkswagen

Press Pulse’s new online media sentiment report revealed that Suzuki achieved the highest score over the last 30 days, followed by Ford.

Press Pulse is an AI tool that gauges the market sentiment of popular brands in the media.

Backed by Broad Media, Press Pulse focuses on South African business reporting from the country’s biggest publications, to measure brands’ success in achieving positive exposure.

It ranks these brands by the amount of positive, neutral, or negative articles in the media, as well as the reach and influence of the publications that covered them.

The more positive articles a company receives, the better its sentiment ranking.

This provides companies with an objective way to measure their brand’s online media sentiment and gain insight into how they can improve.

Suzuki and Ford dominate

We used Press Pulse to compare the market sentiment of South Africa’s best-selling automotive brands in November 2024.

Suzuki came out on top, having enjoyed positive press coverage over the last month among top-tier business publications.

Ford didn’t tail far behind, coming in second place. Its new Mustang officially went on sale in early November, as well as its Mustang Dark Horse hitting the shelves later in the month.

These factors contributed to its positive sentiment.

Hyundai came in third place, followed by South Africa’s best-selling brand Toyota, and finally Volkswagen in last place.
