It is particularly well-known for its TVs, however, and has claimed the number one spot in China’s display market and the number five spot globally.
Its TVs have become bestsellers in many international markets, including South Africa, where customers can choose between cutting-edge panel technologies like OLED, Mini LED, QLED, 4K LED, and much more.
SKYWORTH South Africa
SKYWORTH entered the South African market in 2014 by acquiring local TV manufacturer Sinotec and adopting a dual-brand approach.
This approach maintains Sinotec as an entry-level brand offering customers quality products at affordable prices, and positions SKYWORTH TVs as premium, high-end products.
Under its principles of technological leadership, quality first, innovative management, and striving for efficiency, SKYWORTH has gained a significant 15% market share locally.
This includes FHD, 4K, smart, digital, Android, and Google TVs ranging from 24 to 100 inches, which are produced locally at SKYWORTH’s factory in Hammanskraal, Gauteng.
The Hammanskraal factory now produces around 300,000 LED TVs every year and is even capable of populating TV motherboards using knocked-down (individual) components.
Milestones and firsts
SKYWORTH has defined its over decade-long reign in South Africa with a number of local ‘firsts’, which emphasize its dedication to its customers.
Its most recent achievement was bringing the biggest QLED+ Google TV to South Africa. The 100-inch SUF958P offers a 4K display, 120Hz refresh rate, impressive local dimming, and a 2.1.2 channel surround system.
