The statistics show that the unique browsers in the country increased from 23 million in August 2013 to 52 million in August 2014.
The reason why there are more browsers than South African residents is because one person can be counted as a browser on multiple platforms (laptop, tablet, and smartphone, for example).
In August 2014, IAB SA registered websites notched up over 1 billion “standard” page views, and 190 million mobile page impressions.
