Inbound Sound: get your favourite band to SA

Inbound Sound aims to bring concert crowdfunding to South Africa, with plans to launch on 1 November 2014, directors Richard Theunissen and Stuart Walsh have told MyBroadband.
Concert crowdfunding is a growing international trend which gives concert-goers a voice to show musicians where their fans would like them to play next.
This also allows previously overlooked regions to show bands that it might be worth their while to put on a show for them.
Asked about their service, Theunissen said they will offer free registration so people can check out the site before paying anything.
To access the concert section of the site, Inbound Sound will require a once-off fee, which it says will only be used to maintain the site.
When you become a full member of the site by paying the fee, you can create and join events and show support for performers potentially coming to South Africa.
“Once sufficient demand is gauged, we have a channel which we would use to negotiate with concert organisers,” Theunissen said. “We do not envisage ourselves as the next Computicket or Big Concerts, but rather to work alongside them to make events happen in South Africa, which for a variety of reasons have yet to happen.”
A basic subscription will cost R15 (once off) and will give users access to the concert section of the website.
There will also be a R29 option, Theunissen said, which offers the same access, but also includes value-added products. These products are still being finalised.
Inbound Sound is also looking to bring other companies on board, Theunissen said.
Those interested in being notified when the site launches can sign up for e-mail alerts on the Inbound Sound website, or follow them on Twitter.
Update: A previous version of this article stated that Inbound Sound would offer certain voucher codes as value-added products, but the company has since said that the exact features of the R29 option are still being finalised.
