New South African news website launched

Kagiso Digital, a division of Kagiso Media, has launched now.co.za, an online news portal focusing on local news and perspectives on trending topics.

“Now.co.za brings both a tabloid flavour and greater context to highbrow news, and has been in the test phase since the end of last year,” said Kagiso Digital.

Head of content at Kagiso Digital Charis Coleman said visitors to now.co.za can expect original content produced by a team of experienced journalists.

Now.co.za editor Deshnee Subramany said the platform covers a broad range of South African stories and offers features on various topics.

Future plans for the news portal include the release of an application built on the concept of a morning and evening edition.

Kagiso Digital will also open content for syndication usage by print and other online publishers. The website currently syndicates its stories on MSN, East Coast Radio, Jacaranda FM, and MeMe Mobile.
