Universal Internet access campaign
A host of celebrities – including Mark Zuckerberg, Charlize Theron, and Bono – have kicked off a campaign to make Internet access universal.
Reuters reported that Zuckerberg and others promoted universal Internet access as a critical component to combat global ills.
Zuckerberg said the Internet is “a dynamic tool for sharing knowledge, creating opportunities, lifting communities out of poverty, and promoting peace”.
The universal Internet access campaign called on “governments, businesses, and innovators to bring the Internet to the people who now do not have access”.
