Popcorn Time, which allowed users to stream unauthorized copies of films, has announced that it has shut down.
TorrentFreak reported that Popcorn Time developer “Wally” said that he has shut down the fork’s servers. “This likely marks the end of the most-used Popcorn Time variant,” the website said.
“I shutdown all the servers, there is nothing I can do anymore. I deleted any logs that can be harmful for any other dev,” the developer told TorrentFreak.
According to the publication there was an exodus of developers at Popcorn Time, including the person who registered the application’s domain name, in fear of legal action.
