WhatsApp blocking links to Telegram
WhatsApp users have reported that the app is blocking links to competing chat app Telegram.
A Reddit member said WhatsApp was playing “low, really low” by restricting the ability of users to click or copy Telegram URLs.
The Verge highlighted that the Telegram links still appeared as messages, but that they did not register as hyperlinks.
“Users were blocked from copying them to paste into another app – effectively treating them like malware or spam,” said The Verge.
