South Africa’s most-watched YouTube videos of 2015

YouTube

Google has revealed which videos were the most watched in South Africa – and the world – in 2015, lead by some truly South African antics.

Taking a look at South African favourites for 2015, the news made the news with Vuyo Mvoko’s mugging in full view of SABC cameras topping the most watched videos list.

A polite female JMPD cop became a star for refusing to tolerate a shirty driver’s attitude after he jumped a robot; comedian Noko Mashaba’s iNumber Number touched a core on police brutality and corruption; and a video of a bogus police officers attempt to hijack a couple brought the reality of crime in South Africa into disturbing focus.

There were some light moments in the mix too, with South Africa’s favourite export Trevor Noah continuing the ‘war on bullsh*t’ on The Daily Show and Ramscomics Noko Mashaba getting discriminated against at a job interview.

In terms of music favourites, Wiz Khalifa’s See You Again (ft. Charlie Puth) was the most watched music video. The song was also the most popular music video in the world, due in large part to being included on the Furious 7 movie soundtrack.
