Reddit launches user blocking
Reddit has released a feature to help its users filter spammers and trolls from their inbox – user blocking.
Reddit said anyone can voice their view on the platform, which “leads to great communities and deep, meaningful discussions”.
“But, sometimes this very openness can lead to less awesome stuff like spam, trolling, and worse, harassment,” it said.
The user blocking feature is part of its work to deal with unsavoury posts on its platform.
“You can now block users that reply to you in comment replies. Simply click the “Block User” button while viewing the reply in your inbox.”
The profile of the blocked user – and their comments, posts, and messages – is removed from the user’s view.
The company said these are the first steps toward improving the experience of using Reddit.
