KickassTorrents mirror launched

isoHunt is reported to have resurrected KickassTorrents in the form of a mirror, with files from the last 18 months.

This follws the arrest of the founder of KickassTorrents, Artem Vaulin of Ukraine, by US authorities – which resulted in the website being taken down.

Vaulin has been charged with copyright infringement and one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering.

Following the outage on the usual KickassTorrents domain, a new .website domain was launched with a mirror of the torrent site.

“Kat.cr is a website we all know and love, and the world will never be the same without it,” the new KickassTorrents website manifesto states.

“That’s why before it will come back, we’ve made the mirror of Kat.cr with all the torrents we could find. It’s not perfect, but if you want to save and archive something, now is the time.”

The website warns users that it does not know how long the mirror website will remain up, but says it is “at least something”.
