Takedown of KickassTorrents good for other torrent sites’ traffic
Before it was taken offline, KickassTorrents was the largest torrent index in the world, TorrentFreak reported.
Since its seizure, sites like The Pirate Bay and ExtraTorrent have seen a spike in traffic.
ExtraTorrent reported seeing an immediate increase in traffic of over 300%.
While some sites have seen former KickassTorrents users flocking to their pages, others have been negatively impacted.
Torrent caching service Torcache.net went offline when KickassTorrents did, suggesting the two might be linked.
Because of this, torrents on 1337x.to, Monova, and other sites that use Torcache are not loading at the moment.
