YouTube has launched its own social network, called YouTube Community.
The beta version of YouTube Community is accessible via the Community tab on a user’s YouTube channel, giving them “easier, lightweight ways to engage with fans more often in between uploads”.
“Now you can do things like text, live videos, images, animated GIFs, and more. Viewers will be able to see your posts in the Subscriptions feed on their phones. They can also opt into getting a notification anytime you post,” said YouTube.
YouTube said Community’s launch will be limited initially, but it will bring more users on board in the future.
As reported by TechCrunch, the move to launch YouTube Community follows Google’s limited success with social network platforms, such as Google+.
