Another big torrent site shuts down

TorrentHound has decided to shut down its torrent site, as reported by TorrentFreak.

The site’s founder said the move was voluntary.

“Following the demise of KickassTorrents and Torrentz, the shutdown means that three of the 10 most-visited torrent sites at the beginning of the year are now offline,” stated the report.

TorrentHound was founded in 2007 and received millions of visitors per month. It was the target of industry complaints over the years, and the site was blocked in several countries.

“At TorrentFreak, we have been keeping a close eye on the torrent ecosystem for more than a decade, but never have we seen so many large sites going offline in such a short period.”
