Julian Assange’s Internet connection cut off

WikiLeaks said on Twitter that Julian Assange’s Internet link has been intentionally severed by a state party.

“We can confirm Ecuador cut off Assange’s Internet access Saturday, 5pm GMT, shortly after publication of Clinton’s Goldman Sachs speech,” it said.

WikiLeaks added that it has activated the appropriate contingency plans, but did not provide further details.

Assange has been residing in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London for over four years in an effort to avoid extradition to Sweden over allegations of rape.
