Ster-Kinekor is implementing a new point-of-sale platform and the cinema chain is hard at work resolving teething problems with the switchover.
Ster-Kinekor CEO Wanda Matandela said the new system is called Vista and it is regarded as a global industry leader.
Matandela told MyBroadband that they aim to have the system implemented across all their theatres, with all the kinks ironed out within the next two weeks.
Once Vista is live across the whole of Ster-Kinekor, Matandela said they plan to roll out new features which will delight their customers.
This includes services for SK Club members.
He said they are also looking into features such as booking your refreshments – like popcorn and coke – ahead of time.
After you pick up your ticket and are shown to your seat, a staff member will deliver your refreshments before the movie begins.
Matandela said that should this feature be implemented, Ster-Kinekor will roll it out to Cinema Prestige first before deciding whether to offer it across all theatres.
