Huffington Post South Africa launches

The Huffington Post South Africa has launched, promising to offer its readers an insightful and honest view on local news.
This is The Huffington Post’s first venture into sub-Saharan Africa, with South Africa being an “extremely exciting market for the company”, said HuffPost CEO Jared Grusd.
The Huffington Post provides international content and its technology platform, while Media24 provides the local content and handles advertising sales.
“We have lined up a team of people who are young, smart, passionate, and having the best time together after years in traditional newsrooms,” said Verashni Pillay, Editor-in-Chief of HuffPost South Africa.
“We’ve spent the three weeks running up to this launch really learning what it means to be fierce and fun, as our tagline puts it.”
