Facebook testing public Wi-Fi locator
Facebook has started testing a “public Wi-Fi locator” feature on its mobile app for iOS.
As report by Engadget, the feature allows users to turn on “Find Wi-Fi” in the app’s menu – which then identifies nearby open hotspots.
Facebook will automatically detect places with free connectivity, listing the location, the hours it is open, and the name of the SSID.
The social network said the move is aimed at ensuring users can stay connected and follows it launching data-intensive features like live video streaming.
