Ster-Kinekor has apologised for glitches in its new online booking system, following complaints about its app and new website.
The company recently unveiled a new website which replaced the Flash-based portal it had used for over a decade.
It is part of a larger revamp of Ster-Kinekor’s backend point-of-sale platform to a system called Vista.
Vista is an industry leader in cinema point-of-sales, Ster-Kinekor told MyBroadband, and the change will enable it to offer new features to customers.
However, the migration has not been without teething problems – with cinema-goers complaining on Facebook, Twitter, and the MyBroadband forum about issues when buying tickets.
Complaints range from the Ster-Kinekor app no longer working, to people being billed but not receiving tickets when booking online.
“We are in the process of improving our Ster-Kinekor mobile app, current web, and mobi services,” said Ster-Kinekor.
“We apologise to our customers and fans for any glitches uncovered during this interim process. We are working tirelessly to move the process along so that our customers can engage with improved and innovative digital platforms.”
