BitTorrent Live Android App now available
BitTorrent has released its BitTorrent Live Android App, which features free live streaming on Android devices.
The app offers “alternative voices in news, action sports, live events, entertainment, and cultural programming”.
BitTorrent Live is already available on Apple TV, Fire TV, iOS, and macOS.
The company previously said that the service uses peer-to-peer technology, which it considers a great success.
“Each of our channels are effectively served from a single machine. When you watch a video, there’s a very good chance that you’re not getting it from us – you’re getting it from your peers,” said BitTorrent.
“When the swarm grows, we don’t have to scale up. We can serve millions of users with negligible server cost. That’s the magic behind the technology and the reason we’re so into what we do here.”
