IMDb shutting down its forums
The Internet Movie Database (IMDb) is shutting down its popular message boards, including the platform’s private message system.
IMDb is the world’s most popular source for movie and TV ratings and reviews.
The company said to enhance the customer experience on IMDb, it decided to disable the message boards and PM system on 20 February.
“We have concluded that IMDb’s message boards are no longer providing a positive, useful experience for the vast majority of our more than 250 million monthly users,” said IMDb.
“The decision to retire a long-standing feature was made only after careful consideration and was based on data and traffic.”
IMDb said its customers have increasingly migrated to IMDb’s social media accounts as the primary place to post comments and communicate with editors and one another.
