The man accused of owning KickassTorrents, Artem Vaulin, can be extradited to the United States, a Polish court ruled.
TorrentFreak reported that the ruling doesn’t mean he will be extradited, though.
The next step is to decide whether he will be extradited. If the court rules against him, the Minister of Justice announces the final decision.
Vaulin will then have the option to take his case to the Supreme Court.
Vaulin is currently in hospital, where he was transferred to from prison, to receive treatment for back problems.
Although the court ruled that Vaulin’s health was fine, the director of the prison were Vaulin was held said his facility could not provide adequate treatment.
Vaulin will face criminal copyright infringement and money laundering charges in the US if he is extradited.
