The ZA Central Registry (ZACR) has confirmed that 12,677 domain names are set to be deleted on 1 September.
This follows the suspension of 15,420 org.za domain names on the same date last year.
The deletions are taking place because only 2,394 org.za domain owners have migrated to ZACR-accredited registrars.
The ZACR wants all org.za domains moved to accredited registrars.
“It is good news that many org.za domain name holders have transferred their domains,” said ZACR CEO Lucky Masilela.
“However, we are concerned that many more still have not made the transition.”
Org.za domain names which have not been transferred to accredited registrars by 1 September will be deleted and made available for registration on a first-come, first-served basis.
