ZACR reactivates dotAfrica Pioneer Programme

The ZA Central Registry (ZACR) has opened a second round of applications for .africa domain names.

The second phase of the .africa Pioneer Programme will run from 9-23 June 2017.

The Pioneer Programme allows businesses and other interested parties across Africa to apply for preferred access to approved .africa domains prior to “general availability”.

“This programme and the interest it generated in the public and private sector really surpassed all of our expectations,” said ZACR CEO Lucky Masilela.

Pioneer Programme applicants are required to highlight qualities of their organisations, emphasising their relevance to Africa and their ability to harness the .africa domain name.

The public will be able to register .africa domains from 4 July 2017.
